Select Star is a data catalog & management tool that solves data discovery problems inside organizations. It's uniquely good at helping other companies understand their data - what data they have, where it lives, how it's structured, and how it's being used. The company is providing Google for internal data - when customers have too many tables or data sets that they cannot find Select Star helps them to find & understand what they have.

Shinji Kim, the founder and CEO, explained that the tool that Select Star provides is a solution to a problem she has seen directly inside corporate Data Science teams. Her mission for Select Star is to allow any corporation to quickly tap into an easy-to-use platform to solve this problem.

The company raised a $2.5 million seed round led by Bowery Capital, with participation from Background Capital and a number of prominent angels including Spencer Kimball, Scott Belsky, Nick Caldwell, Michael Li, Ryan Denehy, and TLC Collective. Right now a team of six engineers and Shinji are looking for a new team member - Junior Recruiter & Operations - who'll help them to expand their team first and then will take on other operational tasks. Do you want to start a career in the international space and learn a lot of exciting things? Then apply now!

What will you do?

  • Recruitment tasks: the company wants to hire more Engineers and Marketers, so you'll be searching for potential candidates to fulfill those needs and look through inbound requests from the website. Then you'll need to contact them via LinkedIn or email about the hiring process. After your first working month, Shinji expects to have at least 50-100 qualified candidates that you'll have emailed already.

  • Scheduling interviews with Shinji: you'll need to schedule Shinji's calls with potential candidates and send them links to those calls.

After the initial unload with hiring takes place, you'll move to other operational tasks.

  • Sales tasks: right now, the company is building its sales processes, so you'll be the one to start doing lead generation tasks after they built these processes - you'll need to do cold outreach to potential clients of the Select Star via LinkedIn or emails.
  • Other possible tasks.
