The founder of Grintern, Anastasia Sartan, is a data scientist, serial female entrepreneur, and a very inspiring person. She lives in California and knows all the needs of the startups better than anyone - she has founded not only the amazing career platform which you are browsing right now (yes-yes, grintern.ru) but also two more successful startups: StyleHacks - the Google and Founders Fund-backed startup, leveraging AI, and voice commerce to create a personalized shopping experience; and one of the first largest fashion e-commerce company in Russia, funded by European investors and with an acquisition offer from Asos.com in 2013.

Now, Grintern Graduate is growing rapidly and is looking for a Junior Business Development Specialist who will be finding and reaching out to new potential clients and providing young people with an opportunity to have an amazing career start.

What will you do?

  • Conducting research of potential leads (i.e., clients - startups, VC funds, accelerators, incubators, etc.) and new channels of leads (startup and VC lists, conferences, forums, social media channels, groups, etc.).
  • Reaching out to potential clients via personalized emails or LinkedIn messages to make them interested and persuade them to schedule an online call - you will have to achieve a high conversion rate from the number of sent emails to the number of scheduled meetings and make sure that your efforts result in at least 5 scheduled calls per week (you won’t have to conduct those calls, they will be held by a senior sales manager).
  • Conducting analytics to track how many clients came from which sources, how much time we spend on each deal, how to optimize the process to improve results, etc. Conduct all types of statistics connected to the sales process on each stage of it.

Other possible tasks:

  • Collecting and formulating use-cases that we can broadcast on our grintern.co website and social media.
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Helping with other tasks of the Grintern team - such as reaching out to our partner universities to attract new candidates, for example.

Requirements: 

  • Fluent English - you will be the face of the company and the first person to contact potential clients. You should be able to communicate with clients freely (and for sure with no grammar/spelling/typing mistakes).
  • Excellent writing skills - you will communicate with clients via emails and LinkedIn messages, and we will provide you with some templates, but you will have to personalize most of them. Each of your answers should be leading to the achievement of the goal - scheduling the call. 
  • You are interested in automatization processes, you can quickly learn how to set automatic emails, connect the CRM system to Gmail and Google Calendar, etc. You are curious to find new ways of automating and improving the process of lead generating. 
  • Analytical skills - you like working with data and can work with tables, create funnel statistics. 
  • Persistence - you do not hesitate to write follow-up emails when potential clients are not answering, and you will continue reaching out to them until you get a clear yes/no response.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizing skills - you track each step in the system, always check that everything is done on time, never forget about clients and proactively follow them up, always put all the needed information into the needed folders/databases, etc.
  • Orientation on results - you will have to make sure the team has 5 scheduled calls with potential clients per week.
  • Mission-sharing - you really care about young talents and their career aspirations, as well as about the startups’ founders’ valuable time, so you want to help those parties to organize a win-win situation.
  • You are an initiative person, propose new ideas about the automatization of the process and different ways of outreach
  • You are flexible with working hours - you can work at any time of the day, you just need to join the stand-up calls with the team and some business calls with Grintern’s sales team. 

“Nice-to-haves”:

  • Interest in startups, entrepreneurship - you are curious about the inner processes of a startup, you are keen on that topic and can elaborate on the specifics.
  • You know different programs of automatization, you are curious about learning new ways of lead generation.

What we offer:

  • Full-time employment (8 working hours per day, 5/2). For this vacancy, we consider only senior last-year students and recent graduates. Please note that we will not consider candidates planning to combine several jobs.
  • Fully remote work. You may be located in any country or city, as all of our team members are (yes, we’ve started working remotely before it became mainstream haha).
